LABMUNDO Plenary Session, October 2025

Last Monday, 27 October, LABMUNDO Rio held another of its monthly plenary sessions, bringing together researchers at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-UERJ) to discuss the Laboratory’s current research agenda and share the results of their individual investigations.

On this occasion, researcher Janaína Pinto shared with the team her research experience during a doctoral sandwich programme at the Global and Area Studies Institute (GIGA) in Germany. A PhD student in Political Science at IESP-UERJ, the LABMUNDO researcher is developing her thesis project Climate Change and the Agricultural Frontier in the Pan-Amazon Region: Actors, Interests, and Strategies Opposed to Reducing Deforestation, under the guidance of Prof. Carlos R. S. Milani. Afterwards, LABMUNDO welcomed guest researcher Débora Raquel Oliveira Regis, a master’s student in the Graduate Programme in Military Sciences at the Army Command and General Staff School (PPGCM/IMM-ECEME), for a presentation on chapters 7 and 9 of the collection Crisis of multilateralism? Challenges and resilience (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023), edited by  Auriane Guilbaud (Université Paris 8), Franck Petiteville (Sciences Po Grenoble), and Frédéric Ramel (Sciences Po Paris).

LABMUNDO plenary sessions are periodic meetings between our team, held in person at IESP-UERJ and intended for discussing the Laboratory’s research agendas, projects under development, and topics of common interest.
