Between 21 and 24 September 2026, the student body of the Institute of International Relations and Defence at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (RID-UFRJ) organised the 14th edition of its Academic Week on Defence and International Strategic Management (SDGEI), an event dedicated to fostering integration between the university and those sections of society interested in issues relating to security and defence, foreign policy, science and technology, amongst others.

On 24/9, the final day of the programme, Prof. Danielle Costa da Silva (IRID-UFRJ) led the workshop Content Analysis: the complementarity of qualitative and quantitative methods. Available to researchers registered for the event, this training workshop forms part of the activities of the LABMUNDO project Content Analysis of Official Statements on Foreign Policy (ACPOLEX), coordinated by the professor.

Organised around the theme New Frontiers of Global Power, the 14th SGEI was supported by the Brazilian Association of International Relations (ABRI), the Postgraduate Programme in Military Sciences at the Meira Mattos Institute (PPGCM/IMM-ECEME), the Brazilian Association of Defence Studies (ABED), the magazine Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil and the publisher Ubu Editora.
