LABMUNDO coordinator takes part in the first ‘Geopolitics in the Pub’ event in Manaus
On 30 July 2026, Prof. Rubens de S. Duarte (IMM-ECEME) was the main guest at the first edition of Geopolítica no buteco (Geopolitics at the Pub), an event organised by the International Relations programme at the La Salle University Centre (UniLaSalle) in Manaus, Amazonas. Inspired by other events, such as Pint of Science, the initiative aims to discuss relevant topics in international politics in a relaxed setting, breaking away from the usual rigidity and formality of academic gatherings.

During the afternoon, at the Porto de Lenha venue, the LABMUNDO coordinator delivered a lecture to students from the institution and other interested attendees. Professor Duarte took the opportunity to present to those present the Atlas of Climate Justice in Latin America and the Caribbean (CLACSO, 2025), a publication developed by our Cartography Workshop in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change (OIMC) at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and the Observatory of Geopolitics and Eco-Social Transitions (GeoEcos) at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
