Depicting a decisive period in the country’s recent history through thematic cartography applied to International Relations, this work aims to rise to the challenge of analysing key moments in Brazil’s integration into the international community using accessible language, whilst maintaining scientific rigour. Using thought-provoking and creative visual representations, such as maps and infographics, its chapters explore the main themes of Brazilian foreign policy in recent years from a transdisciplinary perspective, analysing one of the most critical moments in Brazil’s diplomatic history. With a foreword by sociologist Adriana Erthal Abdenur, the book is divided into five parts dedicated to different perspectives on Brazil’s foreign policy between 2016 and 2022, authored by members of our team: Democracy in Crisis; Domestic Actors of Deconstruction; Brazil as a Factor of Regional Instability; Brazil Isolated from the World?; and Resistance and Transition.
