On 24 and 25 September 2025, the Community University of the Chapecó Region (Unochapecó) promoted the first edition of the Western Santa Catarina International Relations Encounter (EOCRI). Organised with the aim of encouraging, disseminating and promoting academic work in the field of International Relations, the event featured a day of presentations of articles and other academic work, with the second day dedicated to a closing lecture given by Prof. Rubens de S. Duarte.

In celebration of National International Relations Professionals Day, celebrated the following day, 26 September, the coordinator of LABMUNDO presented his lecture The Death of Foreign Policy as State Policy. This lecture reflects on what happens when diplomacy loses its guiding thread and analyses the effects of this disconnect between foreign policy and a broader national project.
