LABMUNDO researcher presents webinar on energy transition for H2Todos
On 13 February 2025, the H2Todos initiative held the webinar What is the Energy Transition?, given by political scientist Renata Albuquerque Ribeiro, a researcher associated with LABMUNDO. Moderated by engineer Icoana Laís, the panel sought to present the concept of Energy Transition to the general public, analysing its centrality on the international stage in the face of the climate emergency, as well as the role to be played by Brazil in this debate, as host country of the next United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 30).

PhD and MA in Political Science from the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-UERJ), Renata Albuquerque Ribeiro is a university professor and consultant in international relations and energy, with over 13 years’ experience in international cooperation and energy transition. Among other publications, she co-authored the articles An overview of Chinese action and presence at Africa’s energy transition (Revista Tempo no Mundo v. 1, 2023) and War in Ukraine and energy poverty in the geopolitical south: the case of Brazil ((Diálogos Soberania e Clima, v. 1, 2022). Her research agenda focuses on International Politics, Brazilian Foreign Policy, energy, the environment and climate, Brazil’s relationship with African countries, International Development Cooperation and South-South Cooperation.
