AD Scientific Index, one of the main platforms dedicated to measuring the impact of scientific production in the world, has published its 2025 ranking of researchers, and LABMUNDO is proud to highlight the acknowledgement of its coordinator among the leading experts in our field of study.
Based on the platform’s own metrics – which take into account various indicators, such as the quantity and relevance of scientific publications, the number of citations received and the international repercussions of the research – Prof Carlos R. S. Milani ranked first among researchers from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) dedicated to studies in the areas of Political Science and International Relations. In addition, Prof. Milani was recognised as a member of the group of the 3% most relevant scientists in the category focused on the Social Sciences.
Created in 2021 by Murat Alper and Cihan Doger, two Turkish scientists who were upset with scientific evaluation metrics that favoured the prestige of journals over the quality or impact of the articles themselves (thus overvaluing publications from the Global North), the AD Scientific Index takes into account elements such as Google Scholar’s H Index, which measures the total number of citations of articles over a period of time, regardless of the origin or language of the publication.
